We are a family hobby “kennel” with homes in Virginia and South Carolina…a kennel in name only, as our whippets are all house pets. We raise our puppies in our home along with our adult whippets, and all of our dogs are happy, healthy pets first and foremost. We focus first on temperament and health, in the belief that to be a happy dog, a whippet must be a good pet. We also breed for soundness and “type,” those qualities that make a whippet look and act like a whippet.

Greetings from Ruth and Doug Broadfoot and welcome to our website. We are located near Lynchburg, Virginia and have owned and bred whippets for more than 40 years. As breeders we are most proud of our record in the Bred by Exhibitor classes at the American Whippet Club’s National Specialty Shows.
I started with Affenpinschers in the early 1960’s and have also bred and shown Rottweiler’s and Shiba Inu. Whippets are my perfect breed and I absolutely believe they are THE breed for a wonderful family dog. Windsong in a hobby kennel in the serenely beautiful Greenbrier Valley of West Virginia. Blessed by clean air and open spaces, the Whippets spend most of their days outside running and sunbathing in their paddocks. My emphasis is on sound structure and good health. Good food, lots of exercise and excellent health care contribute to making them the best companions they can be.
