Nia is owned by Monica Peters of Montana. She lives with two other Whippets on a beautiful, manicured property that I hope to see in person someday. I asked Monica to write a few words about Nia, and her enthusiastic answer went like this:
"Nia - if you ask me - is stunningly gorgeous. She has an amazing athletic body that she enjoys very much. She is a Frisbee Queen and a sprinkler chaser. When she wants my attention she comes up to me from the front or back. Stretches her front legs out as far as she can to my stomach or back and grabs with her toe nails/paws. Maybe not proper, but it makes me squirm, scream or laugh. It's endearing so it continues.
She gives the sweetest hugs ever!
She nuzzles her nose into my neck and breaths while I give her wonderful
hugs back. Nia
starts out her day getting up early to spend morning quiet time with me
while Marq & Juno
(sister whippets) usually sleep. She spends work days at work with me.
She has tons of friends, four legged and two that she plays with. She
uses her treadmill like a pro athlete. We all go on lots of walks on the
ski trails up the mountain we live on and camp in our little travel
trailer when ever possible.
Nia has been the perfect fit. [My other Whippets] Marq & Juno love her
very much. Her latest annoying behavior is partly my fault too. I bought
a new sleep number bed.
I was putting it together. I was letting the foam
that would eventually be the inside of the mattress get some air after
being packed. I went out of the house for a minute. I came back
to a big bite out of the side and the corner of the foam top ripped.
All she heard was NIA! And she was out the dog door. I know dogs love to
tear foam…….. It really didn't hurt the function at all so that was
that. I'm hopeless when it comes to these whippies." -- 10.2008
